New Corporate Ethics introductory programme

The Ethical Space has launched a new Corporate Ethics introductory programme - details attached.

Please contact us to discuss further.

World Human Forum

Document:

We have, at various times, discussed the idea of a landmark ethics conference to stand in contrast with the World Economic Forum in Davos. Many have suggested that this is a timely idea and could attract support. It could also act as a concrete step in re-positioning Ambleside campus and Armitt. This is part of forwarding the concept of a centre of excellence in ethics, sustainability and community in the central Lakes, where so many social movements have started.

Sustainable communities

I have started drafting a new standard for sustainable communities - BS8904 - if you have comments or input contact us

Corporate Governance Index

Resources Global Professionals with David Jackman, has published Resources Governance Index (RGI)  for the FTSE 100. The top 10 were announced in the Financail Times in September and now full details are available in a full report from Resources Global. Further coverage is scheduled and the 2010 RGI is under construction, including a new Euro-index.

Broadly, companies in 2009 fared well in compliance with the Combined Code, but were less strong in their commitment to ethical culture and sustainability.

Grasmere - new school

Local sustainabilty issues means as much as national and international issues. Here in Grasmere we are planning to build a new sustainable primary school and convert the existing buildings for affordable housing and workshop units to diversify the employment base. The design is radical, by Ian Simpson architects. The planning application will be heard at the National Park on 7/4/10.
